The Convoy

The city of Boston is alight with Christmas decorations as families all over prepare for the festivities. However, on a run-down industrial park on the outskirts of the city, the Xavier network has detected what seems to be a heavily fortified base of the mysterious enemy organization that has been embroiled in a secret war against mutants. One of the reasons it has been so hard for even the network to find the missing X-men is that the organization's bases seem to be moved every few weeks between several locations. Right now this current base, the biggest they've found, seems to be preparing for a move, when they do, they will be caught by an X-men strike team in a brief moment of vulnerability, during which some of the technology they've used against Xavier's students can be captured or at least destroyed. Once darkness sets in, the Black Bird drops off the last of the teams on a deserted overpass a few blocks away from. The ability of this third team to teleport means they can get off the jet from a distance without it even having to de-cloak, which allows it to drop off the strike-team very close to the enemy base.

X-Men Time

December 23rd

Rage leaned against the railing as she watched the lights emitting from the distant base. She glanced around as she searched for signs of movement before turning her attention to Addy and Justin. "Sooo... I guess we just wait for them to drive out." She said with a sigh as she scanned the darkness, not that it did much good, her night vision was just average.

Addy was busy adjusting her gloves and jacket accordingly and keeping her eyes peeled on the base nearby. "We wait and plan," Addy agreed quietly. "You heard Flame, limited damage, limited casualties. That means we need to capture it without drawing too much attention." She paused and glanced back at Justin, still seeming to be uncooperative with Rage. "My 'ports are more precise than yours, let me deal with the driver. You two should deal with the back of the truck."

With a nod Justin agreed to Addy's notion. By far she was better at pinpointing where she waned to end up. He cracked his knuckles as he began to prepare like he would for his old wrestling matches. Deep breaths, get the blood flowing, focus. He turned to address Rage to his side as he gazed out from the jet, not quite believing what they where actually into. He was only 18 and on the front lines of mutant defense, it was all to much. "I can open a port inside the cargo bay and you can fire off a blast to take car of anyone inside if you want." He offered.

Rage started to frown but quickly changed to a careful smile as she watched Addy, not liking the way the furry girl was trying to take charge and her winds ruffled around her before settling down again. "Fine, you can handle the driver, Justin and I will take the back." She said as she glanced back over the side towards the base. She was at a disadvantage, she didn't know her teammates capabilities so she saw the sense in listening to Addy even though it did annoy her on a purely selfish level. She still didn't believe a mission like this was one that could be accomplished with minimal damage and honestly believed the destruction of the shipment would be best but obviously her teammates had other plans. She vaguely started to wonder if one of them could port a whole truck back to base.

The plan of attack was quickly solidifying inside Addy's mind. After years of having to plan out every move in order to simply survive, a few weeks out of that environment hadn't done anything to turn those thoughts around. And Addy had been in a complex once with heavy guards. She glanced at Rage and frowned at the winds that rushed around the girl. No control, as far as the teleporter could see. That would be a problem. "Wait until I can get the truck under control before 'porting in," Addy said to Justin, her eyes locking on the boy. "We don't need to take any chances that one of us will get hurt."

"Hold on, instead of you risking getting shot or worse when you get in, let me port one of Rage's blasts in and try to blow the driver out of the door before you go in." Justin offered. He didn't want either one of the girls to get hurt, incapacitating or... killing... their opponents before they ever got close was their best bet. "Think you can create two gusts strong enough to blow someone away or knock them out?"

Rage grinned, "I could knock that truck off the road if I wanted to." She answered as her winds stirred again around her. "If you open up a portal then my winds will take care of the rest." She glanced at Addy, "Do you know how to drive? If I knock out the driver you can port in and take over the steering wheel." She looked back at the road... It was dark so headlights would be easy to spot.

Suddenly, the hum of activity in the seemingly abandoned industrial complex. The massive steel doors of one of the delerict factory slowlt opened, rust and dust falling off their hinges as the inches thick metal slowly budged appart. From inside the dark of the factory, a pair of headlights suddenly lit up, illuminating several men on either side of the doors which seemed to be coordinating the movements. The first vehicle to come out was a black SUV, looking as armored and powerful as a tank underneath an inocuous civilian disguise. Following the SUV came a massive eighteen wheeler, also painted black, with a large logo on the side of it which read "Nebraska Foods - The Best Meats." Finally, a third vehicle followed the enormous truck, yet another SUV which looked like an exact replica of the first one. Soon, the convoy lined up in front of the linked wire fence surrounding the factory as a few men, dwarfed by the truck, opened the door for it.

"It looks like our truck has arrived," Addy said with a small nod towards the convoy that appeared. "If you're going to try the driver, can you get it from here when it passes?" she asked, crouched low so that she could BAMF at a moment's notice if she needed to. Studying the truck she would be aiming for, Addy's eyes roamed over the SUVs and she frowned. They would need to do something about those. "We can't forget about the escorts," she added.

Justin's hand danced in the air readying himself to open a hole in the general vicinity of the cabin of the main truck. "If i had a knife or a gun i could take out one of the SUV's tire, but in this case think you can fire one off through the port then do what you would like with the SUVs?" He was already thinking of a defense way to port if needed. "I got two or so big ports to get us in the cargo hold after."

Rage was looking significantly more grim as she studied the SUV's. They would call for help and make a safe retreat difficult. She pulled her fans out of their holsters and flicked them open, feeling her winds ripple in reaction. She generally used the tools in a show but she knew her winds were easily capable of violence just as much as subtlety. "I can start a dust cloud and hopefully force them to pull over. Justin, can you do a small portal in each vehicle? Doesn't have to be big, just enough for my winds to get through." She asked calmly, as she ran a hand nervously through her hair. It was actually happening, her heart was going crazy but she was forcing herself to stay calm to avoid stressing out the other members. Her winds skimmed over the ground experimentally as they tried to pick up any debris they found.

With the gates open, the mutants could clearly see the convoy depart. The SUVs guarding the front and read as the truck lumbered onward. The convoy moved at good speed down the road from the complex and was soon approaching the overpass, as it was, apparently, going to pass right underneath it.

"Fuck its now or never." Justin scowled he wasn't ready for this kind of thing. He was about to enter a damn war. He relaxed, closing his eyes letting his training with Zeke go to use, imagining the area of the cabin in the center right above where the driver's head should be. He didn't try to see it but instead pictured it making an image based on all of his senses, His eyes flicked open as his fingers clenched, pushing alot of energy into opening three individual one foot portals inside the cabin as inconspicuously as he could right in front of his hands facing Rage so she could cause havoc.

Watching the trucks, Addy slid over the edge of the overpass on the other side, watching for the trucks to pass under. She kept her ears perked towards what Justin and Rage were doing, also listening for the trucks to stop or not. But the majority of her concentration was on where she was about to BAMF. A moving target wasn't going to be the easiest. But it wasn't the first time, and wouldn't be the last time, she made a tricky jump. Waiting to hear the go ahead from Rage, Addy held tight to the rail of the overpass, hanging just enough to be invisible to anyone else.

Rage swallowed hard as the vehicles came closer and she raised her fans and moved them in a sweeping motion. The reaction was immediate as her winds whirled and twisted, sweeping up sand and dirt and twigs until it was a mass of debris. She was concentrating on the portals Justin had created as she swept her fans forward and her winds rushed the trucks, hitting them at hurricane force as they forced their way into the cars and spread. This was a lot harder than she'd imagined, controlling them while she couldn't see them, so she fell back on a familiar attack. She let her whirlwinds form and concentrated on encouraging them to faster speeds, she hoped that in addition to making breathing difficult she'd siphoned enough sand and dirt to make the enemies vision useless.

Unfortunately for Justin, it was one thing to create a portal fixed on a point over a wall or even in mid air, and another one entirely to create one able to move at over 60 miles per hour, perfectly aligned with another object moving at similar speed, from several hundred feet away. The portals hit the point almost perfectly, opening on top of the driver's heads, but less than a 10th of a second later, they were sitting on the exact same position while the trucks and SUVs, along with their drivers, were 30 feet further down the road. With the portals hovering in mid air like silver disks in the middle of the road, Rage's hurricane winds came gushing through, harmlessly and anti-climatically splattering all kinds of twigs, leaves and small pieces of gravel all over the asphalt. With all the ruckus, though, the last SUV suddenly stopped and two men quickly got out of the back, looking back at the disks spewing down gusts of wind on the road. The men quickly turned around, as if looking for the source and when they noticed Rage's and Justin's shapes , standing squarely on the overpass and clearly outlined by the moon behind them.

"For christ's sake." Justin was more disappointed in the poor results from his training than anything. He was a second to ate and they were about to be Swiss cheese. He preemptively swept hi hand through the air opening a portal big enough to cover himself and Rage since Addy was out of sight. "There goes the element of surprise. Just knock em out but dont shoot anything right in front of you i have a port opened that exits to the left pointed right back at em if they fire anything at us. They are easy if they're close together."

"Motherfucker." Rage muttered under her breath when her winds missed their target. She was already gathering her winds for another attack when the SUV stopped and the men got out. "Well damn. That makes it easier." She said as they stared up at her. She grinned and even gave them a small wave that triggered a blast of wind that was easily strong enough to knock them off their feet and into la la land.

Addy didn't hear what was expected and she frowned. It gave her an idea, but she didn't want to distract Justin again. Maybe next time if they teamed together. Peeking down under the overpass, she saw the front vehicles still moving. Addy pulled herself up again and looked right at Justin, still hidden behind the rail. "Stop that front truck," she said to him, speaking clearly. "Doesn't matter how, just do it." Using her natural agility, she dropped down underneath the overpass, holding herself tight and keeping an eye on the target truck, waiting to see if it would pass under or if Justin would stop it. Either way, she would find a way inside.

Keeping his right hand out he kept the front portal open in order to redirect any attacks. Justin cocked his head to the side to catch Addy's instructions. The big portal was a strain on his energy but since it really wasn't going any where but three feet he could keep it up as long as he needed. He flung his free hand forward ripping a hole open about ten feet in front of the front trucks tires about the size of a man hole cover.

To everyone's surprise, the two men that had gotten off the last SUV did not attempt to fire at the mutants atop the overpass, instead, one seemed to bring his hand up to his ear for a second as they looked in the direction of Justin and Rage. When the girl blew a powerful gust of wind in their direction, both men attempted to jump out of the way. One managed to deftly avoid the gust of wind and immediately took off running to the side of the road. The other was hit squarely in the chest and pushed back by the powerful winds. However, once in mid air the man seemed to simply flip back with cat-like agility and fall on his feet. Immediately after, he took a dive behind the stopped SUV, using it for cover.

In the meantime, under the bridge, Justin managed to place a portal in front of the first car of the convoy even without being able to see it. Though it was not enough to stop the car, one of the tires did fall into the manhole sized portal and made the char jump up as it made its way out. With the driver probably thinking he had hit something, the SUV swerved to the side of the road, prompting the truck behind it to stop, and the back doors opened, and two agents came out, looking around for whatever they had hit. They seemed not to notice Addy, who was the only one who could see what was going on under the overpass, but they did seem to notice the portal Justin had created on the floor.

Seeing the vehicles stop, Addy couldn't help but smile a little evilly to herself. This was exactly what she wanted to happen. Now would be so much easier to get the truck. Watching the men as they noticed the portal, Addy clung tightly to the underpass for a moment before she vanished, reappearing crouched tightly against the front SUV on the opposite side as the men who were looking at the portal. She put a hand on the tire, focusing on the rubber, before she BAMFED away again, trying to take the tire with her to incapacitate the vehicle, aiming for the opposite side of the overpass once more so she could drop the tire there.

"Shit." Justin was trying his best to work out any plan he could, so far their first one was bust and his provisional portal had pulled the convoy over but not stopped it and if he didn't act quick he was about to have a face full of lead. He clenched his fist hoping to close the pot hole portal in time before they could make use of it as he stared up at them as they looked down into it. "Any ideas Rage?" The cover portal was getting achy in his chest a bit as he kept holding it open.

Rage was staring at the trucks as her mind rushed to think of something. A strong blast like she'd used a second ago wouldn't do much good if they could counter like that. "Can you get me down there?" She asked hurriedly as she looked at Justin. "Bring this portal down, we need to see and you need to save your strength." She ordered. She couldn't see Addy but judging by the reactions the teleporter hadn't been noticed yet. She had an idea, she didn't know if it would work but no matter how agile a person they had to touch the ground at some point; maybe she could make her winds stay near the ground and blow their feet from under them. That could work right? She hated this next part but she felt for that to work she'd need to be closer where she could judge and control her winds better.

"As long as we are only going a couple dozen feet I can do a few of those." Justin collapsed the protective hole and quickly punched one open that lead behind the guards down on the ground. "Ill be right behind you, go!"

Rage nodded and stepped through the portal that led to the ground. Almost immediately her winds started to whip around her defensively as she took several cautious steps forward. So far the guards had done nothing but run and frankly she wasn't going to rush an attack again. She stood still, even while her winds were erratic, searching for a target. As she searched her winds calmed as she sent them to ground level and let them wander lazily spreading under the vehicles and beyond. For right now just a gentle breeze blowing against a persons shoes. Not even noticeable except for the grass that barely swayed.

The moment Addy teleported next to the SUV, both of the men who had been inspecting Justin's portal seemed to notice her at once. One of them quickly pulled up a sort of expandable baton, bringing it to full length with a quick flick of his wrist and quickly rushing towards Addy. Fortunately for Addy, however, she safely managed to teleport away, SUV wheel in tow, before the man got close to her.

In the meantime, Justin opened a portal for Rage, who stepped through and ended up right behind the soldiers. The moment her feet touched the ground, though, both soldiers seemed to notice her and pulled out their own batons. The men quickly moved to flank Rage in a sort of pincer maneuver. Right as they did so the SUV they had come out of, which was still running, careened towards Rage in reverse and at full speed, apparently intending to run her over.

Not realizing that Rage and Justin were putting themselves in harm's way earlier than planned, Addy continued her solo sojourn into enemy territory. At least one of the men knew that she was there, not that they would be able to find her if she teleported away, so she peaked down, concentrating on the cab of the truck they needed to hijack, and teleported in, hands at the ready to grab at whoever was inside. Once she was in the truck, she acted fast, grabbing at the driver to teleport him as far away as possible before concentrating on herself and bringing just herself back to the truck.

Somehow it seemed the guards under the bridge seemed able to detect Addy the moment she approached them, as they turned towards the truck the second she teleported in and rushed to the cabin. Inside the cabin of the truck, Addy found another agent who had been driving, this man was not equipped with full combat gear and instead wore a worker's jumpsuit and a cap with the same meat packing company logo as the side of the truck. "What the f-!" he began to say, pulling out a gun from inside his breast pocket and aiming it at Addy as she teleported away with him, firing a few gunshots in her direction as they materialized about 300 feet further down the road.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck." Rage was chanting in her head as the SUV started gunning towards her and the men had her cornered. Her winds flared, as they reacted to her fright and suddenly the ground was a mass of hurricane force winds made all the more powerful by their concentration against the ground. She was still holding her fans as she darted to the side of the man waited on one side. She flicked them closed, effectively turning them into heavy steel bars. Her training in dance was a obvious, she didn't waste an effort as she tried to slide past him, the winds parted where she stepped but kept up the boiling pressure around her as she moved to bring bring one fan down on the back of his head and the other, a split second later up against his throat.

Justin decided to hold his ground and provide range support since one of those batons seemed nasty up close. He quickly tried t focus on the other guard as rage tried to take care of the other after trying to dodge the reversed truck. He couldn't engage them both and still be accurate so instead he focused on the space right below the other guards jaw and released a powerful hooking smash, redirecting the blow from a straight forward to an uppercut right at the guards jaw by turning the opening portal 90 degrees t face upwards. If it didn't knock him out if it landed jaw blows should definitely disorient him.

Unfortunately for Rage, her winds did little to keep the SUV from barreling down on her direction. However, with the speed of the vehicle and the debris kicked up by the girl's powers, the car simply went straight in reverse until it crashed into Justin's open portal, simply stopping as it did so. The soldiers, though, seemed a bit less impervious to her winds. One of them was distracted by Justin's uppercut, which struck him squarely on the chin. To the mutant, it felt like he had just smashed his fist into a block of steel, but the man did stagger back and held onto his jaw, pained and disoriented. Trying to keep his balance, the man seemed to notice Justin's arm sticking out of the shimmering portal, suspended in mid air. Lunging forward, he grabbed onto Justin's wrist and tried to pull him upwards, making the young mutant's shoulder jam into the portal. In the meantime, the second soldier had tried to prevent the wind from pushing him back by keeping a low center of gravity. The first of Rage's strikes hit the man on the side of the neck, making him pull back a bit, in obvious pain, unfortunately her movements were wide and the man was a trained hand to hand combatant, after all. The second attack was easily intercepted as the man grabbed onto her forearm with a vice like grip which was sure to leave a bruise. Pulling her towards him, the guard headbutted the girl squarely in the nose with what seemed to be all his strength, which certainly felt like a freight train colliding with the lithe girl's face.

Guns sucked. Guns sucked big time. Addy moved slightly, feeling the bullet graze as she BAMFed away with haste, not caring one way or the other if the man was left stranded and injured. These men were getting on her nerves, and she was bleeding. But she had experienced worse. Far worse. When she rematerialized closer, Addy heard more than saw what was going on with her group. She let out a growl and disappeared once more, away from relative safety, and behind the man grabbing at Rage, and leapt onto his back, her entire weight being used to hit him and all her limbs grabbing him as she BAMFed away once more, taking him with her, leaving Rage where she was. When she did reappear, it was a good twenty feet in the air with the man facing downward. There was a small chance he would grab at her when she BAMFed to safety, or someone else would take a potshot, but that was a chance she had to take. This was tiring, and the blood was soaking into the material of her uniform. "Get to the truck," she said into her microphone. "Watch out for guns."

The man was clearly not expecting Addy to suddenly materialize behind her. As the girl monkey gripped the man's back, the soldier seemed to notice her almost immediately, same as the two that had been by the truck. He grabbed his expandable baton and flicked it to full length but didn't manage to shake Addy off before they were ported 20 feet up in the air. Twisting his body, the guard, clearly disoriented, managed to jab Addy's side with the baton, which immediately sent around 20,000 volts into the blue girl's body. For a second, Addy's every muscle seemed to scream in pain and contract at the same time, from her jaws to her toes. Letting go of the man, she floated away in free-fall until the baton's tip was out of range, releasing her from the surge of electricity.

"What the fuck?" Justin yelped as his hand stung in response to his own attack. Luckily his own plates in his gloves kept him from breaking anything but there was something seriously weird about these guys. He quickly withdrew his arm for a follow up as he was trained to do but the guard recovered way to quickly for anyone to be considered human and had his arm in has grasp trying to pull Justin through his own portal. His other portal quickly dematerialized as the truck slammed into its partner shattering the spatial link. All he heard from Addy was "guns" and he was trying to come up with an idea. This whole scenario was going to hell in a hand basket. This guard may be inhumanly strong but by god I'm a greco roman state champ and damn well know more about push/pull and weight control, like hell im losing this. He planted both of his feet lowering his hips and forced back on his heels. Since he only had his portal open now he had a free hand and simply snapped his fingers attempting to open up one below the guards planted front foot and make him slip forward then pull hard closing the portal and lop of the son of a bitch's arm and leg in the process.

Other than their ability to detect people, there was hardly anything inhuman about the guards, but now that Justin had come face to face with the realities of punching against the bone of a trained soldier, he seemed to be taking things more seriously. Since Justin had punched upwards, the man had little need to applying much strength, simply letting himself hang off of Justin's arm was enough to keep the young man from pulling his arm back through the portal. After all, he could hardly move the much larger man who was putting all his weight just on Justin's elbow. The portal by the man's leg, however, seemed to work, as the guard's foot quickly fell through the portal, making him lose balance and let go of Justin's arm.

"Fuck!" Rage yelled as she suddenly saw stars and her eyes watered against the pain. She was disoriented and took several staggering steps back as she tried to reclaim her senses. She reached up to gingerly touch her face, god it hurt and she felt wetness. A sudden dread filled her, in spite of the much more serious circumstances, did he break her nose?! She looked at her fingers and paled at the sight of blood. How dare he!? To ruin her face? She wanted this over with now! She needed to get back to the school and have her nose fixed before it was permanently scarred! Addy's voice seemed to cut through her thoughts and she was suddenly brought back into reality. "Got it." She snapped irritably as she vaguely processed that Addy had just saved her from further damage, a fact she appreciated more than simply her life being saved. She ran forward, reaching the car and smashing the drivers side window with one of her fans. She doubted that they would have the door unlocked and frankly she was past caring. Her winds funneled into the vehicle and started the vortex she'd often used. It was effective in making it near impossible for the victim to breathe and she hoped it'd be enough to let her unlock the door and get rid of them.

Unfortunately for Rage and unbeknownst to her, not only was the truck's driver already gone, teleported by Addy only seconds earlier, but the windows were made of bulletproof glass. After a 30 or 40 second run, the girl finally arrived to the side of the massive semi truck carrying what they needed to secure. She lifted her arm and tried to smash the window in with her fan, only to have it bounce off it, sending a wave down her arm as it hit the plated glass that made Rage's muscles feel like jelly. To boot, Addy had left the two guards from the front SUV searching for her just to the side of the track. Quickly, they noticed Rage standing on the other side of the truck and flanked her, one of them approaching her from the back and the other one blocking her way back to her teammates, both with electrified batons at the ready.

On the plus side, these batons had nothing on getting hit directly with Light's electricity. On the down side, every nerve in Addy's body was currently misfiring. She was still twitching when she BAMFed away, landing on top of the largest truck in a crouch, her jacket spreading out behind her as she shook her head to clear it. That had been highly unpleasant. "Guns and electricity," she muttered under her breath. "We need to regroup," she said into her comm device, glancing around for Justin or Rage. Either one of them she could grab. She didn't bother to turn and see where the man she had flown landed, uninterested in that at the moment. Instead she slid down the side of the truck, just behind the baton bearers who were headed towards Rage, and let out a breath. "Blind jump, blind jump, blind jump," she said under her breath, closed her eyes, and aimed for one of the men with her teleport, her hand flying out as she attempted something she didn't think she would ever have to do again, inserting a limb into someone else's body. Addy had successfully done it in the other realm on the lizards. This, however, was different, if only slightly.

Addy successfully slid down the side of the truck and got behind one of the two men flanking Rage. Unfortunately for her, the very fact they were flanking the other girl meant at least one of them could see her. Turned out the man did not even need to call out thought, as the guard Addy was trying to sneak up on seemingly detected her immediately yet again. When the girl lunged forward the man simply stepped to the side, evading the teleporting attack as the girl's hand ported away nothing but air where the man had been.

"Son of a bitch." Rage muttered irritably to herself. This day was going from bad to worse and she suddenly decided that when she got home she was going to invest in a gun.... A big one. She was at a loss on what to do, her arm felt like goo and it was hard enough to keep a hold of her fan. When Addy attacked one of the men, however, she sprang into action. She flicked open the fan, this time determined to use the razor sharp edges instead of letting her body be damaged again. She was wary of the baton and sought to evade it by moving fast, hopefully quick enough that she could escape being shocked as she pulled him forward and around, dragging the edges of her fan across his throat in a hard, inelegant move.

"Dont worry they can reattach it." Justin reassured himself before doing what he knew he had to do to put at least one of the guards out of commission. He quickly withdrew his arm and closed both portals including the one with the man's leg already through it. He opened a small portal inside the truck blindly feeling for a door handle and shoved it open hoping to catch the remaining guard that was after Rage in the face with the door.

Timing her attack alongside Addy's, Rage also charged the man who had just avoided Addy's teleportation attacking, whipping the bladed edge of her fan at his throat. Quickly, the soldier was able to bring up his hand and block Rage's blow by making his wrist hit the bottom of her hand. With his back to one of the massive wheels of the truck, he slid his left foot towards Rage, attempting to sweep one of her legs and push her off balance. Between himself and Addy, the door of the truck suddenly flung open, luckily with no one around it. Justin's hand could easily be seen poking out through a shimmering portal after opening the door of the truck. The second soldier, baton in hand, rushed towards Addy from all the way at the end of the truck, probably figuring his team mate had Rage under control.

If they thought that Addy was a one trick pony, they were gravely mistaken. They were good, but they weren't that good. She was an expert fighter as well. Had to be, because they weren't the only things that could read her 'ports. And that was what had to be happening. A smile formed on the girl's lips, fangs clearly visible as she took a step and 'ported to a place just behind the man, knowing that he would know where she was headed. Probably swing too. And turn. The moment she landed, though, the girl dropped into a crouch, so much more comfortable, and her tail whipped out towards his legs. Forget the baton, he needed to connect with it first. Addy waited for contact before she concentrated on the man, just the man, and ported away, hoping to leave behind his weapons, clothes anything that wasn't him and his boots. Not that she needed to see him naked, but she did want to get him away from whatever help he had.

Just as Addy had predicted, seconds after she materialized behind the soldier, the man turned around with his baton in hand and swung at the girl. The blue mutant quickly ducked and dropped into a crouch, her tail wrapping around the man's leg before she focused the best she could and teleported away. The small miscalculation in Addy's plan was, however, that she was not in contact with the man himself, simply his pants. When addy materialized away from the group, she noticed her tail tightly wrapped around a pair of pants after leaving behind a very angry soldier in a pair of white boxers, right by her roommates.

Her wrist was sore where she'd been hit and she was feeling exactly how inept and unprepared they were and her pride stung at their failure. However, she caught sight of an opening when he tried to sweep her leg Rage was a dancer by trade... If there was anything she could do well it was knowing how to keep her balance. She brought her lifetime of training into play as she swayed slightly out of reach and lifted her leg in time for him to hit only air before stomping down as hard as she could on his exposed knee; she knew how little pressure was needed to break a leg if hit against the joint and she was praying that her blow would land.

While Addy undressed the guard behind Rage, the woman managed to avoid the guard's attack and stomp down on the side of his knee. With a powerful crack, she could feel the man's knee giving in under her strike as his leg bent in a way should normally not be able to. With a cry of pain, the man fell down on his good knee while he tried to regain his balance.

Justin withdrew his arm having missed his plan completely. "I cant see a thing, but we shouldn't be grouped in one place either..." The boy pondered the situation for a second before stomping the ground to open a portal under his feet opening directly under the bridge causing him to land on top of the truck. From his high ground and cover above his head he could see the fight over the edge of the truck. "Well they cant be all bone." He watched from a bit afar as Rage went for the mans leg. A liver shot should force all his weight onto her target limb, giving her a good chance for the most damage, plus I know from experience it hurts like hell. He shot forward in a full right smash aiming to blow him clear in liver through a small portal forcing his weight onto Rage's target and hopefully stunning him.

Right after Rage managed to break the man's leg at the knee, Justin opened a portal through which he struck the man squarely on the side of the stomach. Doubling over in pain and unable to maintain balance with one busted knee, the soldier keeled over and fell to the ground, grabbing his side in pain. Unfortunately, the soldier Addy had tried to teleport quickly made his way to where Rage and Justin's disembodied arm were. Though looking quite comical without pants, the soldier's electrified baton proved as dangerous as ever as he bashed Warp's wrist with it, sending a shock up the boy's arm as if he had just stuck his finger into a wall socket.

Rage raised an eyebrow and couldn't help but crack a smile as she caught sight of the man in his underwear. "Jeez, Addy, if you really want to see a man naked, I'll set you up with Justin." She joked dryly, unable to help herself against such an obvious opening. Moments later her target screamed as his leg snapped and she suddenly felt a bit sick at the wet crack that filled the air. That was going to be a nasty injury. She barely had time to think when Justin's portal opened next to her and his fist hit the guard; that was just kinda creepy but cool at the same time. When the half naked guard attacked she caught the movement from the corner of her eye and flinched back a step or two before he used that incredibly annoying metal rod on her teammate. Hitting the damn thing with her fans would be useless considering the fans were also made of metal, so she did the next best thing. She took advantage of the guard shocking Justin, and swung her leg in a high roundhouse kick that, if everything went correctly would hit the guard squarely in the face.

"Slight miscalculation," Addy said. "Won't happen again." She teleported back near where the men where, she ignored the obvious joke from Rage and instead made a small jump back to her pantless attacker, the one shocking Justin. Seeing him attacking her friend, anger rose in the girl, and she was done playing around. Dropping to all fours, she bound forward quicker than a normal human would be able to. Addy kept low until she was on the man again, staying under easy arm reach as she came up and slid under him, her hands grabbing at fleshy legs. This time, she could do what she needed. Addy didn't rightly care now if he was killed or not, he was hurting her friends, so when she BAMFed away this time, she only focused on the leg she was touching, her mind closing off that the rest of him even existed. She was only taking a leg, ignoring everything else, even if he swung at her with that baton.

As the guard shocked Justin, he did not noticed Rage's foot coming towards him and was promptly struck by the kick on the side of his face. His cheek cracked as the man's head pushed to the side and he stumbled backwards, his cheekbone probably broken now. Just then, Addy approached him from behind and successfully teleported away nothing but the man's shin and foot, leaving behind a fleshy, bleedy stump which caused the man to keel over to the side, screaming in much the same way his partner had.

Justin was delighted to see his attack had actually landed. Between Rage's leg break and his blow at least one more was down. He was getting ready to withdraw when what felt like a car battery ran through his hand and up his arm. He instinctively drew back and hit his ass on the roof clutching his hand as the slight smell of singed flesh came from behind his fist plate. His mind was racing but his body was quite listening as his arm and chest did the occasional twitch and jerk as he tried to get his mind back from the sudden hit from what reminded him of a stun gun.

Justin fell back on the roof, of the truck, his arm paralized and every muscle in it trying to contract at the same time. Unbeknownst to the boy, he was too close to the edge and quickly rolled off the side of the truck, falling opposite to his team mates. With his system under the effects of the electric shock, he could not turn cast any portals and simply hit the floor like a sack of potatoes. Only then did he notice two things. One, the truck driver had disappeared, leaving the keys in the ignition. And two, looking under the truck he could see the man whose leg Rage had broken was standing up, he seemed to have just forcefully pushed his leg into place and was stood as if nothing had happened behind both Rage and Addy without them noticing. Looking towards the outside of the overpass, still unable to really move much until his nerves stopped firing like crazy, he noticed another soldier running towards him. For some reason this one had one of his feet bare, right the pants leg above it perfectly cut right below the knee.

Addy was done sticking around. It was time to get the hell out of there. She and Rage were both bleeding, and Justin, wherever he was, was probably still twitching. "Lets go," she said to Rage, taking the girl's hand and 'porting them both into the truck. She really didn't care to stick around any longer. "Drive," she said to Rage before BAMFing out of the truck again and to the other side, away from the bleeding guy that she really didn't want to see anymore. This was just...bad. These guys were way too powerful, like the ones who had attacked her three years ago, or only a few months here. In her mind, she drew the connection. And even dropping the guy from height hadn't held. So these guys were probably of the same caliber. Her eyes did a quick sweep for Justin, who she was hoping to get to the truck as well, and hoped that Rage actually listened to her, to hell with fighting these guys.

When Addy teleported to the opposite side of the truck, she immediately noticed Justin, who's muscles were just now stopping their involuntary contractions. The cloth on his uniform along his knees and elbows seemed all scratched up, but Justin seemed fine beyond that.

She felt sick... The sight of the legless man had caused a bit of bile to rise in Rage's throat. She didn't really get a chance to recover before Addy teleported her and she opened the door of the truck just in time to leave her breakfast on the pavement. With that out of the way she cranked the engine and shifted into drive before slamming on the gas. It was definitely time to retreat and she spoke into her communicator. "Addy, find Justin and bring him here." She ordered briskly. She was hoping he could open a portal into the back of the truck so that Addy could start destroying the cargo. She was only a few short minutes from pulling out her team and giving up on the mission. They couldn't fight against these guards that seemed almost god like.

Luckily for Rage, the massive truck roared to life just as she turned the key on it. Noticing what the pair were doing, the soldier outside, whose knee was slowly recovering, pulled out his a gun from a holster within his chest armor and aimed at Rage, firing twice. The girl closed the door just in time for the two shots to hit the bulletproof vehicle harmlessly. The SUV in front of the truck quickly began to back up to try and block Rage's path. Unfortunately for the soldiers, once the girl stepped on the gus, the armored cargo truck swatted the SUV out of the way as if it was breaking through paper. With the black SUV smashing into the side of the, the shoeless soldier that had been heading to the bridge quickly turned around and, for some reason, began running in the opposite direction.

Addy didn't pause again to think. She hurried over to Justin and pulled him into a sitting position so she could easily put his arm around her shoulder, holding him tightly against her. "Time to go," she said, trying to be as positive thinking as possible as the truck started moving. She could picture where she wanted to end up as she BAMFed one more time, bringing Justin with her. These guards were getting out of hand, and they really just needed to be out of there. Justin found himself in a seat in the truck, Addy crouched next to him and blocking most of the window with her body. "Stay here," she instructed, not really caring at the moment about leadership or team. She just wanted her friends out of the line of fire. She took a deep breath and turned towards the cargo bay of the truck, closing her eyes a moment before she vanished again, her goal to end up inside the hold of the moving vehicle.

Once Addy was inside the truck's cargo hold, the inertia of the vehicles movement sent her tumbling over piles of something towards the back of the trailer, slamming roughly into the back gate. However, the force wasn't enough to seriously injure her or knock her out, and as she got to her feet and looked around, she noticed that there seemed to be nothing but different varieties of furniture inside.

"Justin, can you open a portal to help get rid of this stuff? If so do it." Rage ordered a bit shortly. She was concentrating on the road, she wasn't that worried about the people in the SUV, they seemed to heal way to quickly and it nagged at her why the powers seemed so familiar. She didn't know where to go... The idea of driving the truck as a getaway vehicle seemed like a horrible idea. It certainly wouldn't be hard to spot and she wouldn't be surprised if there was a tracking system somewhere. She did notice, the guard start running in the opposite direction and she felt sick. What was bad enough to make someone run from their own allies? She glanced at Addy, "Grab some samples if you can but get ready to port out." She said quickly and gave the truck more gas. Maybe they could get away with the whole thing but she wasn't willing to let her teammates, or herself, die on their first mission.

"Addy, get me back there, i have one big one left in me a couple hundred feet maybe at best. Just get me into the cargo hold." Justin managed to get out, as his body was finally under his control, but he was exhausted. His powers ran on electromagnetic energy putting a tad of a spark back into his portals, but a hell of an ache in his muscles. "I have an idea that i hope works."

The sound of police sirens slowly beginning to fill the air gave away the reason for the man retreating. Each of the guards scurried away, back to the still-functional SUV, and after climbing in, sped off in the opposite direction, determined not to get into the middle of a police versus mutant fight, if it were to come to that.

"Fucking hell." Rage groaned. After this vastly discouraging battle the idea of getting arrested was just depressing. Sure, she'd spent a night or two in a jail cell... Especially after a long party, but like hell was she going to stick around now. She wanted drinks, a club, some dancing and then the most mind blowing sex she could find. She gunned the engine and drove along the road maybe, if she was lucky, she could find a small space to turn off the road and buy them enough time to destroy the cargo and get out if there.

The sirens were growing louder, and soon enough, flashing blue lights appeared in the side mirrors of the truck, far away, but still visible to Rage.

Addy let out a confused growl and anger suffused her. Here she was, bleeding and injured, and all she could see was furniture. In her anger, she launched at one piece at random and quickly destroyed it before jumping to the next one, tearing it apart with her bare hands, yanking on bits and throwing it around the truck. She didn't hear the sirens from where she was, but after her fit of anger, she calmed down and looked at the destruction around her.

After Addy's little outburst, as she calmed down and took a look around her, she could see in one corner a few crates stacked on top of each other, appearing significantly different than the furniture she had destroyed.

With a grunt Justin crawled through a small portal through the seat and into the cargo bay. It was dim and took a second for his eyes to adjust but all he could see was furniture. "You have got to be fucking kidding me." He grinted through his teeth. He din't have the energy to take it out on anything like Addy, unlike her his portals required spatial distortion and redirection instead of matter displacement which drained the hell out of him with his multiple holes that day. The sirens reach his ears right when he felt Rage slam the gas. He peeked back through the hole to yell, "get us out of here, your not gonna like what we have on our hands."

With his last portal, Justin had finally exhausted himself of his powers for the day, and if he were to try another, he might effectively knock himself out.

Going on all fours, Addy bounded over the furniture and wreckage to the crates, sizing them up before she pried one open. Maybe this wasn't a completely futile effort. If she could 'port even one of the crates, she would let Rage destroy the others. But first she needed to see what was inside. Ignoring what was happening, knowing that she could extract the team when needed, she just let Rage continue on. In the meantime, she kept herself busy dealing with opening the crate.

Tearing into the first crate, Addy dug through the pile of Styrofoam peanuts all the way to the bottom, only to be disheartened to see that there was nothing there. However, as she broke into the second crate, inside amongst the stuffing was a cardboard box labeled 'FRAGILE'. The box was small enough for one person to carry, and if she shook it, she could tell that something, or several somethings, were inside.

"What fucking now?" Rage snapped tensely. She was definitely feeling on edge, the idea of dealing with cops annoying her, not to mention there was a good chance she would get deported if she got arrested again. She could hear what sounded like a fight going on in the back. "Is there more guards in the back?" She asked and almost slammed on the breaks but decided to keep going instead. Her winds were starting to stir again and ruffled her hair and clothing reassuringly as they filtered through the portal after Justin and gently breezed through the back of the truck. "Addy, what's happening? Can you get rid of that crap or not?"

"Its, *huff* all just furniture and two crates back here. I hate to say it but we might have been duped. *huff* For now lets jest gtfo." Justin managed between breaths not even caring that he just used text speak because he was to damn tired to say it all. Hi eyes shifted back to the crates. "What did you find Addy?" He asked, noticing her face had suddenly changed.

Addy yanked the box free and didn't hesitate to BAMF over to Justin as she tore it open, thinking that she finally found what they were looking for. And then she could 'port them all out and get home. Which she was eager to do. "Might have found something," she said as she pulled at the top, wanting to see what was inside and if they could finally leave.

Luckily for the trio, the box that Addy found seemed to be the right one, as inside, among the box stuffing, were several small plastic devices that looked like they could fit around one's neck. However, now the several cop cars, the drivers of which had been alerted to the commotion the mutants had caused, were fast approaching, practically riding the tail end of the semi.

"Ok, good." Rage answered as she glanced at the flashing blue lights in her side mirrors. "Now do us a favor and get us out of here!" She demanded. She didn't know Justin's limitations so she included him in the demand. All she knew was the cops were right behind them, she couldn't teleport and they were all driving a stolen truck after beating the shit out of the guards who, thankfully, seemed to MIA.

Closing the box again, Addy pushed the box into Justin's arms. "Hold this," she instructed before taking his free hand in hers and 'porting them both into the cab of the truck. She landed in the middle of the seat and put a hand on Rage's arms. "Ready to go?" she asked jokingly a moment before she looked out the window for a safe place a distance away from where they were and BAMFed them out of the cab to land some way away from the road, leaving the truck moving behind them.

"Um ok." Justin managed as Addy shoved the box into his hands and pulled him through the dimensional rift. It felt so odd, yet familiar, unlike his hols this threw his sense of direction haywire, but the static energy, the ripping of space time was all somehow similar. Before he knew it he was sitting in the cab, but didn't have time to say a word as he was jerked through the rift again.

Addy's teleportation was on-spot, and the trio landed off the side of the road, some feet behind the cops and out of their sight. However, weak and drained of all his energy, Justin couldn't hold onto the box, and it slipped from his hands, rolling into the road and spilling its contents over the pavement, amid oncoming traffic.

Addy let go of hands just in time to see the box fall from Justin's hands. She let out the smallest curse before she dropped to all fours, sliding after it and grabbing one of the items just before a car came by and crunched the rest. Addy had to drop back to avoid the vehicle, clutching the item in her hands. She blinked a few times before glancing back at Justin and Rage, slinking back to them and simply hoping that she hadn't been seen and if she had, they had mistaken her for an animal of some kind. "Let's go home," she said quietly.

"Fuck" Rage muttered as she stumbled to the ground. She hated teleporting. The sensation always made her feel a bit nauseous and she fell to the ground in a sitting position. She'd barely gotten to her feet when she noticed what Addy was doing. Her winds immediately stirred and blew the foliage around in an attempt to shield and cover her movement. It was one of those uncanny antics that made them seem alive as they reacted to her subconscious rather than an actual thought. When Addy returned she nodded i agreement. "Agreed. Lets get out of here."

The portal boy tried his best to grasp at the box as i slipped from his grip but to no avail. He had no energy to scamper after it,instead he watched in amazement as Addy raced forward grabbing one as Rage provided back up. When it had all calmed down Justin shook his head in shame. "Sorry guys, this whole thing took more out of me than i thought. Lets just get out of here,"

Reaching up to the communicator in her collar, Addy decided it would be best to contact Shana. "Morpha, this is Blink. Target acquired, requesting extraction." She sure hoped these comm devices had the distance that everyone seemed to think. And using their code names was weird. She just wanted to say 'Shana' and 'Addy'. But there was a reason for training and she had seen enough military operations in the facility she grew up in to know the importance of such things. Looking up at Justin and Rage, she let out a small sigh. "I vote we get looked at and then do something fun when we get back," she said quietly.

A reply came from Shana a few seconds later, her voice sounding a little muffled and tired, "Uh-uhm.. Oh, awesome. Good job guys. I'll send the jet. Give it about 30 minutes."

Rage grinned tiredly. Her nose was still sore and she really wanted to get it checked out. "I vote weed and tequila." She muttered, purposely excluding her intention of getting laid.

"Pass on the pot but can i get an extra fifth of rum with it." Justin raised his hand a bit. He wasn't one for drugs, but he had many a friend who could get into a ABC store and he made use of it. "Rage think you can get me some?"

"Sure." Rage answered with a tired smile. "But you have to kiss me first." She added with a playful smirk. She shot a subtle glance at Addy, remembering the girl's earlier irritation and she wanted to make sure she'd come to the right conclusion before acting on it. Of course... she would fully enjoy a kiss from him if she was wrong about him and Addy.

The friendly banter between the other two made Addy grit her teeth and look away, waiting for the jet. She didn't even bother to look at Rage, knowing that if given the chance, Justin would probably go for the kiss. And who could blame him? But the blue furred mutant didn't even want to think about it, so she just sat on the ground with the object they were after in her lap, trying hard not to let the play of emotions, mostly annoyance and dejection, play across her face.

Some time passed before the jet arrived, picking up the trio of students and carrying them back to the mansion.
